ABOUT OUR FARM

Maxwell Acres Ltd is a local farm that has been producing delicious fresh produce since 1989. We are a father-son team born and raised in Grey County. We consider farming to be a lifestyle; we love what we do and it brings us pleasure knowing that our produce is enjoyed by so many.

Our farms stretch across Grey County; from Annan to Meaford, Thornbury and Collingwood areas. Farming has been part of the Maxwell legacy for four generations. Earl Maxwell started farming apples in 1960 when he bought some farm land in Clarksburg, ON. Earl’s son Mikal Maxwell then joined the family farming business soon after.

Later in 1989 our parent farm, Maxwell Apple Orchards, was started by Mikal and his eldest son David Maxwell, then followed by his middle and youngest sons Greg and Scott.

David and his son Nelson Maxwell then started the Maxwell Acres Ltd branch of the farms in 2015. 

 

In early 2024,  following the tragic loss of Scott​, Maxwell Apple Orchards was then absorbed into Maxwell Acres Ltd.

Our business continues to grow as does our love for farming and our appreciation for our faithful customers.
